Five world whiskies on a Wellington Harbour cruise

Join me, for a whisky tasting like no other, aboard Ika Rere on Wellington Harbour - a smooth 90 minute cruise through the harbour's calm, sheltered bays. This series is all about World Whisky. We'll taste five drams from Scotland, Ireland, Japan, Australia and New Zealand, and see how they stack up against a classic Scotch.

Perfect if you're new to whisky, with plenty there for the geeks too. Your ticket includes five world whiskies, nibbles, a guided tasting, and a 90 minute harbour cruise.

What is FIRST FILL (PHIL)?

Join Phil Gow from First Phil Whisky in exploring whisky, scotch & bourbon through videos, reviews, tastings, and community interaction.

The names is based off first-fill casks are casks that have never been used before to mature single malt whisky.

They are typically made of oak, and the wood imparts its own unique flavours to the spirit.

The channel, First Phil Whisky, is a pun on this, as just like a first-fill cask imparts its flavours to whisky, I want to use the channel to impart knowledge about whisky to others who want to know more about this special drink.
